At Seniors Helping Seniors® Northern Delaware County, we have a passion for meeting the needs of seniors in a way that provides both dignity and a sense of camaraderie. Our owner(s) Cindy Lefkowitz firmly believe we can do that through serving seniors in our community, which includes: Delaware County, PA.
Cindy Lefkowitz, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors home care in Northern Delaware County, has been a caregiver all her life. For the past 33 years she has worked as an occupational therapist, working specifically with seniors, and she is happy to be part of an organization that helps seniors support each other on a daily basis.
Seniors Helping Seniors in-home care matches seniors who need help with seniors who want to help. This peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors in need to receive care from someone to whom they can relate and trust. At the same time, seniors who want to help are able to remain active, engaged members of their community, while often forming strong relationships with their peers.
“As an occupational therapist, I truly understand importance of having purposeful and relevant activities to carry out throughout your life span; it has such an impact on your quality of life,” shared Cindy. “Being able to offer younger and healthier seniors the opportunity to continue to provide service to others, and to feel competent as they age, is so valuable. Offering older and less active seniors the opportunity to remain in the homes they love safely, and with the services they need to feel comfortable, can make all the difference. Combining the two makes it all even better!”
Cindy was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. She takes great pride in her Delaware County community and is thrilled to support the families in her area. “I live, shop, and have worked in this community for most of my adult life,” shared Cindy. “I have raised my children here, and have helped care for my elderly mother here. I’m honored to be able to support and help local families and their loved ones live the best lives they can.”
Cindy graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. After working in the field for a few years, she decided to return to school at the University of Pennsylvania and train to be an occupational therapist. For the past 33 years she has worked in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing centers, and in the community doing home health care, mostly with older adults who have had a variety of physical and psychosocial challenges. She and her husband, Jay, are active in their community, participating in many different events like dance classes and gardening. Cindy’s main goal with Seniors Helping Seniors home care is to help her fellow community members live their best lives, with the support, care, and opportunities they need to do so.

About Our Founders
Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service was co-founded by Kiran and Philip Yocom in order to realize Kiran’s personal mission of providing care for those who can’t care for themselves. Before coming to the United States from India, Kiran worked with Mother Teresa for 14 years.
